By 1992, Warren Johnson, the perennial Oldsmobile standard bearer, had competed for 17 years in NHRA Pro Stock competition. At the end of the season, the popular racer finally put it all together to win the NHRA Winston Pro Stock Championship. To commemorate this achievement, artist James Ibusuki has created a special limited-edition lithograph, "The Professor." The title refers to Warren's well-known nickname as the top technological leader and innovator of Pro Stock drag racing.
The painting depicts WJ spinning the massive slicks prior to another assault on the quarter mile at Heartland Park Topeka, the site of his seventh win of the season. A stout 7.20 sec. - 192.38 mph final round charge made it nearly impossible for any driver to catch him in

the year long points chase. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity, this museum quality lithograph is limited to 950 numbers. The image area is 17"x 28" with ample borders for framing. Each print is autographed by Warren Johnson, signed and numbered by the artist.
COLLECTOR'S NOTE: Since that breakthrough season, WJ has gone on to earn 5 more NHRA Winston Championships, become the first Pro Stock driver to break the 200 mph barrier, surpass Bob Glidden's 85 wins for the all-time record, and rank 7th on NHRA's 50th Anniversary "Top 50 Drivers" list. A fine quality lithograph of his first championship season would be a highly-coveted collectible for any fan of the factory hot rods.
