Night of the Altereds

Probably the second most requested sold out edition is this dramatic nocturnal portrayal of the wild AA/Fuel Altereds. With one hand on the door, fan favorite “Wild Willie” Borsch manhandles the legendary “Winged Express” ‘23 T bucket against Mondello & Matsubara’s “Purple People Eater” ‘48 Fiat. The painting takes place in the summer of 1968 at Southern California’s Irwindale

Raceway. Whether it was a 2-car match race, 8-car elimination shootouts or even racing against Funny Cars, many of the greatest Fuel Altered battles took place at the popular drag strip in the late ‘60s and early ‘70s. At the time of achieving sold out status, “Night of the Altereds” was Ibusuki’s fastest selling lithograph. The complete edition was autographed by Al “Mousie” Marcellus and Joe Mondello.
